AMERON Hotel Speicherstadt in Hamburg
The building at Sandtorkai 4-5, as well as the former coffee exchange were built between 1954 and 1965 by the architect Werner Kallmorgen. The former office building is a listed building and has been subjected to a comprehensive building refurbishment by MBN Bau AG and converted into a hotel. A four-star hotel with approx. 190 rooms and suites, a bar, a wellness area, as well as an additional restaurant and event facilities, were built in the former coffee exchange. The special charm of the hotel concept is that the actual hotel area and the restaurant are connected by an historic pedestrian bridge over the Brooksfleet. With the integration of the hotel, the coffee exchange has now been given a new function, which is linked to its original use.
