The district of Köpenick in Berlin is not only known for its captain, but also, among other things, for its recreational and sports facilities. Now “An der Wuhlheide” has become a residential complex with 157 residential units, 53 of them are barrier-free. The property of the housing estate with a size of 5 204 m2 is located directly at the river Spree and offers direct access to the water. We realized the extensive new building project ready for occupancy.
The residential complex consists three freestanding five- to six-storey apartment buildings and a multipart six-storey building complex. The basement is accessible from all parts of the building and has cellar and technical rooms as well as 103 garage and bicycle parking spaces. The external appearance is characterised by its coloured plastered façade structure. In addition projections and recesses structure the facade of the large building complex and thus create a varied appearance.
With floor-to-ceiling windows, underfloor heating, balconies and increased sound insulation, the apartments offer a high level of comfort. Furthermore the residential units can be reached by seven passenger lifts and are equipped with video door intercoms. The complex is built with energy-saving building services and optimized insulation of the building envelope. The technical equipment includes a combined heat and power unit which generates 20 kW of electrical and 42 kW of thermal power, as well as central roof fans with heat recovery. Due to its energy savings, the building thus not only complies with the currently valid energy saving regulations EnEV 2009 and the EWärmeG, but also with the KfW-55 standard.
